A Chronicle of Medway Life -1967

A playground has been built at the corner of Winthrop and Partridge Streets. This was once the site of the Number 5 Schoolhouse, later replaced by a synagogue. Equipment has been added.

The town voted not to buy land at Main and Elm Streets to build a town library.

The North School on Lovering Street is now open, easing the crowded situation in the elementary schools.

Kindergarten is back.

The Junior-Senior High School is already overcrowded and double sessions will again be needed in the Junior High School.

The town voted down money for architectural fees requested by the School Building Committee.

Measles and diabetic clinics were held as well as an antigen clinic and tuberculosis testing.

A Korean War Monument is to be erected in Memorial Square with the World War I and World War II memorials.

Speech therapy was initiated in the schools.

Thieves caused $1000 damage in an attempt to get into Boyce Jewelry Store. A hole was hacked into the roof of an adjacent building.
